Policies & Procedures

PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICIES

  • All prices are in U.S. Dollars.  Tuition prices are subject to change until your registration fee and first week's tuition is received.
  • Registration Fee:
    • A non-refundable registration fee is required in advance with each reservation. This fee is non-refundable and is not applied toward your tuition.
  • Tuition Payments:
    • Your registration fee and tuition are due in advance to guarantee your registration:  Current tuition rates are listed here.

    • Satisfaction Guarantee:  You have until the end of the day of your first day of class to cancel your registration and receive a refund of your pre-paid tuition.

    • If you extend your stay and wish to pay for additional weeks after you arrive in Cancun, classes are on a space-availability basis only.  We accept only cash at the school (US Dollars or Mexican pesos at the current exchange rate).   If it is more convenient for you, you may also pay for additional weeks via credit card on our web site.

  • Housing Deposit:
    • If you would like the school to arrange any of our student housing options for you, a deposit is required to make a housing reservation (amount varies by property).  If we make a housing reservation for you and you later decide not to stay in that housing for that check-in date, the landlord will keep your deposit and it is therefore non-refundable and cannot be applied to your tuition at the school.
  • Payment Methods:

    • Registration fees, tuition payments, and housing deposits to our US office can be paid via traveler's check, money order, bank transfer, credit card or Western Union® Money Transfer.  Tuition payments at the school for additional weeks can be paid in cash only.

  • Refund Policy:

    • The registration fee and the housing deposit (if applicable) are non-refundable.

    • No refunds of tuition are given for missed class days due to school holidays or a student missing a class for personal reasons, and no class hours are made up.

    • If your plans change on or before your first day of class, you will receive a full refund of tuition (minus the transaction fee if paying by credit card).

    • Satisfaction Guarantee:  You have until the end of the day of your first day of class (midnight) to cancel your registration and receive a refund of your pre-paid tuition for the first week.

    • If you attend classes for fewer weeks than you paid for, your tuition for wholly unused weeks will be fully refunded (minus the registration fee and the transaction fee if paying by credit card) if you notify us no later than Friday for classes starting the following Monday. All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the school or to our U.S. office via e-mail

    • All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the school or to our U.S. office:

    • All refunds will be paid out of our U.S. office.  PayPal payments will be credited back to you through PayPal (minus the PayPal fees).  Cash or other payments, whether paid to the U.S. office or directly at the school, will be mailed to you via check or money order from our U.S. office.

HOUSING ASSISTANCE

The Cancun Spanish Language Institute can assist you in locating housing options for your stay in Cancun.  We have a number of resources available to us for locating good deals for you, and we will personally inspect them to give you a clear idea about the neighborhood and the condition of the property, but we are only identifying lodging options available to you and, if necessary, assisting you in reserving them.

We cannot guarantee the prices listed on our web page, and the hotels and condos reserve the right to raise their rates at any time.  The school does not take any responsibility for guaranteeing housing arrangements that are to your satisfaction, nor does it have any responsibility for disputes regarding the terms, price, condition of the property, roommates, or anything else related to your lodging.

MEXICAN ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND VISAS

Please check with your country's embassy to see if an entry visa is required.  Visitors who enter Mexico through Cancun are given only a 30 day tourist visa.  If you enter through another Mexican city you are often given 60 or more days on a tourist visa.  Students who plan to be in Mexico for longer than 30 days will need a visa of 60, 90, or 180 days, issued by the Mexican Embassy in your country or by the Immigration Office in Cancun.  If you don't obtain an extended visa prior to your arrival in Cancun, we can help you apply for it once you are here.  It is usually a simple process that you will have to do at the Immigration Office in downtown Cancun before your 30 day tourist visa expires, but may vary depending on your country of citizenship and personal circumstances.

Further information about entry requirements into Mexico can be found at http://www.embassyofmexico.org , which is the Mexican Embassy in the U.S.A. but has visa information for travelers to Mexico from all countries.

The school is not responsible for your legal entry into Mexico and you are not entitled to a refund of tuition if your entry into Mexico is denied or your visa is revoked for any reason.
